Gretna is Maybole’s full sibling and is the second Walnut Range Coos’ heifers offered on the Highland Spice Private Treaty Sale for Fall 2025. Gretna is named after a small town along the west coast of Scotland. Gretna is a sweet dun heifer that is a long bodied, easy mover that goes with the flow. She was halter trained as a calf and waits patiently for treats and brushing. We expect the power and beauty that comes from the pairing of FTH Dundee and Highland Spice Hickory to be a great combination as Gretna continues to develop into a breeding age, two year old heifer this coming spring. As we mentioned in the bio for Maybole, the dam’s genetics in the background of these two Walnut Range Coos sisters, is geared to function, longevity and beef production. It is also worth noting that the 2025 Reserve Champion Female was a Hickory daughter out of a cow with Starshire’s Forever Amber (#25166) lineage, proving that the combination works. Gretna is NT821 negative, verified by testing through ACHA. $12,000
